In this episode, we meet Martina Clark, an international activist for HIV and author of the book My Unexpected Life: An International Memoir of Two Pandemics, HIV and COVID-19 which has won several awards including Best in Literature (2021) from POZ Magazine, the NYC Big Book Award (2022) for Social and Political Change, and was a Finalist for Social Change for the American Writing Awards (2022). Martina tells us the story of her journey from HIV diagnosis, to international activist, to abuse survivor and foster mom.
